Last night was rough. When I checked in yesterday afternoon, I saw the room roster as I had to add my name. I asked if everything was good for the group and the response was "yes". I picked the group up from the airport and we arrived at the hotel at midnight.
There were no rooms allocated for the group. The one person working could not find ANY keys to assign to the group. He checked repeatedly, looking in drawers and came up empty. Again, no rooms assigned and no key cards to use. I gave the situation 20 minutes and called Worldstrides Assist. I suggested that the employee use a master key card to let everyone in and he repeatedly told me he couldn't. I repeatedly asked him to call management, he tried once with no response. There were blank key cards in each room used to turn lights on. Eventually it worked that he would assign 2 rooms, follow students to rooms to get blank keys so he could use those to assign to the next group of two. The key cards would not work for the elevator so the employee kept leaving the desk to get people in the elevator. Meanwhile, others would come into the hotel to check in and that would take time away from getting our group checked in as they had to find a blank key for new people checking in. I stood firm in not letting anyone else check in until our group was finished but the employee kept attending to others.
People were double assigned to rooms, assigned rooms where keys didn't work, and so on. The employee was frustrated, rude, and kept snapping at students. He kept saying "this is not my fault" and would not move quickly to help resolve the situation. The last group checked into their rooms at 3:15 am. They had an early breakfast and leave for which the bus was 45 minutes late. It was a maddening night competed bya frustrating morning. Again, it took 3 how's and 15 minutes to get 37 people checked in. Please let me know if you need clarification about any of this.

Ich habe extra um 22:30 im Hotel angefrufen um sicher zu gehen das alles optimal vorbereitet ist. Der MItarbeiter der Nachtschicht hatte hat mich angemault und gemeint: "Ja sicher ist alles fertig..." in einem Ton für den ich damals in meiner Hotel Zeit gekündigt worden wäre... Eine Stunde später dann der Gruppen Check-In und nichts war in Ordnung. Die Kunden sind extrem unglücklich und wollen von uns das Geld für diese Nächtigung zurück...
